If you want to hike, see waterfalls, visit a temple, or see a beautiful view of Chiang Mai city, Doi Suthep is the place to go. Doi Suthep is 1,676 meters tall, and is quite a bit cooler in temperature than the city. Doi Suthep is home to the famous Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, and multiple waterfalls. You can take a tram up to the temple, or climb the 309 steps if you want to accept the challenge. There are unique street foods available for sale near the temple, and there is a Hmong hill tribe village further up the mountain with hand crafted items for sale. Doi Suthep has a lot to offer, and is definitely one of the best places to visit in Chiang Mai.
